MICROWAVE RADIATION LEAKAGE

MICROWAVE RADIATION LEAKAGE

As your microwave oven ages so does its seals.

Microwave leakage refers to the amount of radiation that leaks from the microwave during operation. This radiation has the potential to leak through the door and seals, which in high doses can be harmful to anyone that goes near that microwave oven. So essentially, we’re checking that the radiation levels around the microwave are below the specified limit of 5mW/cm2.

We recommend regularly checking your microwave for age and subsequent radiation leakage.

The tests we perform on the microwave are as follows:

  • We inspect for physical damage.
  • We perform an electrical test to ensure that the microwave is electrically safe.
  • We then perform a radiation leakage test.
